We spent the week learning about our fascinating and remarkable brains. we talked about the parts of the brain and what each does for us. Here are some pictures of a few projects we did to exercise our cerebral cortex, basal ganglia (fine motor skills) and cerebellum (creativity.) ~Ms Leandra
We decided to put our brains together to try a little coding project. The first step was to make a maze made of legos. We all worked together to put the maze pieces on. The next step was to think about how we would tell someone to get through the maze. We used words like go forward, turn left, and turn right. We used a small baby figurine to help us go through the direction words for the maze. We then used pieces of paper that had those direction words on them and arranged them in order
We practiced our bedtime routine with Knuffle Bunny. The preschoolers took turns brushing the bunnies teeth, putting on pajamas, washing up, and reading a story. We talked a lot about how sleep is very important for our healthy bodies and how we can have a good routine for when mommy and daddy say that it is time for bed! ~Ms Michelle

We kicked off 2018 with some fun lessons about taking care of ourselves. This included the addition of the 'Feel Better Clinic' to our classroom. The kids have loved taking turns being the patient, doctor, nurse and receptionist as well as treating some of our stuffed animal friends since it conveniently doubles as a veterinary clinic when necessary.
We put on our scientists hats and did a celery experiment. We know that celery and other fruits and vegetables are very nutritious and that is what we have been talking about this week. We put celery stalks in colored water and waited to see what it would do. The kids gathered the materials, made their guesses, did the test, and collected the data.
