This week may have been a short one, but we made the most of each day. We spent time talking about some of the things we are thankful for in our lives, we had a fun Carnival Day put on by our high school friends just for us, and even got a visit from a police officer. All this and more in just three days - WOW! ~Ms Leandra
This week we learned all about firefighters from how they work together as a team to put out fires and save lives! We learned that their gear weighs (anywhere from 55-100 lbs depending on the tools they attach to it.) We even put out our own "fire" using shave cream, watercolor, a toy house, and tons of preschooler teamwork! ~Ms Leandra
We have been learning a lot about our community helpers. This week we focused on firefighters! A local fire crew came to tell us how they help us everyday, what they use to keep themselves safe, and about their tools on the fire truck. The preschoolers had a great time trying to lift their heavy equipment and getting up into the fire truck for a photo op!
We read the books Astronaut Handbook and Shapes. We then decided to design our own spaceships with the shapes that we found in the book. The preschoolers did an amazing job creating their very own spaceship!
Our new theme is all about community helpers! We transitioned the dramatic play area into a fire station and the preschoolers were working hard to get all the fires out in our classroom! ~Ms Michelle
A Moment for Mindfulness and Movement
These past couple of weeks we began learning about yoga and breathing during our mindful moment. We read the book "Puppy Mind" by Andrew Nance and learned some beginner yoga poses. Ask your kids about their bunny and snake breathes :) ~ Ms. Leandra
This week we celebrated Halloween with our annual Pumpkin Palooza! We dressed up in fantastic costumes, decorated pumpkins, visited some of our favorite places around the school to trick or treat, sang fun songs, and feasted on lots of delicious food with our friends and family. ~ Ms. Leandra
